Church Ministries: INTERCESSORY PRAYER - Prayer warriors meet regularly on a designated morning or evening to pray for God's continued blessings on our Kingdom Building efforts. MUSIC MINISTRY - Our choirs provide ministry through music during the Sunday morning worship experience, special services at Friendship and other venues. THE AUDIO MINISTRY - Volunteers monitor the sound system during the worship experience and record services for future evangelistic work. VISITOR RECOGNITION MINISTRY - This group meets and greets worshippers who are visiting with us on Sunday mornings as well as at our special services. LITURGICAL DANCE/ DRAMA MINISTRY - This ministry expresses praise through graceful movement and creative presentation, inspiring others to enter into the presence of the Lord while creating an atmosphere of Jesus' joy that encourages the believer and causes the movement of a faith decision in the heart of the unsaved. USHER BOARD - The Ushers ensure proper church etiquette and decorum during the worship experience. This ministry improves the flow, knowledge and general concept of the worship service. Service Ministries: FOOD AND CLOTHING OUTREACH MINISTRY - This outreach ministry provides food and clothing to the needy in the community. SOCIAL SERVICES MINISTRY - This ministry serves to provide assistance, guidance and support to the families in our community. This ministry will provide direct help and when needed, referrals will be made to professional services in the areas of:

PRISON MINISTRY - Persons in this ministry assist in building Christian relationships with and developing spirituality in those incarcerated. The volunteers in this ministry also assist with an aftercare program designed to guide persons from incarceration back into society. HEALTH MINISTRY - Ministry designs to disseminate information and identify programs that promote healthy life styles. Schedule on and off campus screenings for diabetes, cancer, blood pressure, cholesterol and other health concerns. Provide information relating to childbirth particularly prenatal and postnatal care. Spiritual matters as well as matters that involve health, politics and social climate. Fellowship: NEW MEMBERS MINISTRY - Assist in the orientation of each new member. Organize convenient meeting times to introduce new member to ministry opportunities at Friendship. All new members will be scheduled for instructional classes and seminars conducted by the Pastor. SENIORS MINISTRY - Volunteers coordinate activities and fellowship opportunities to benefit the elderly. Ministry provides assistance, care and attention to our elderly members. MARRIED COUPLES MINISTRY - Volunteers organize and facilitate programs, seminars and outings that promote successful, God lead marriages. Ministry includes retreats, Bible study class as well as social events. SINGLES MINISTRY - Volunteers organize and facilitate programs, seminars and outings that present information relevant to our unmarried members. Ministry includes Bible study classes as well as social events. SICK / SHUT-IN MINISTRY - Assist the Pastor with visitation to those who are not able to participate in the worship experience. Communion will be administered on first Sunday. Audio tapes will be delivered. The Discipleship ministry endeavors to provide appropriate instructors for every member of the Friendship family. WOMEN'S MISSIONARY SOCIETY (WMS) - The WMS addresses the changing needs of people in the community and throughout the world. The WMS meets regularly to discuss the Bible and are involved in mission activities in the community. SONS OF ALLEN (S.O.A.) - The Son's of Allen addresses men's issues. Regular meetings will be held to keep men informed on spiritual matters that involve health, politics and social climate. Introduce information through various instructional techniques CHURCH (SUNDAY) SCHOOL - The Church Sunday School provides each student opportunities for Bible training and spiritual growth. Classes are offered to adults, youth and children. Our prayer is that everyone make a special effort to attend. BIBLE STUDY - Bible study is scheduled every Wednesday at 6:30 PM. Classes are offered to adults and children. Students come to Bible study to get a better understanding of the Word of God and to offer thanks and praise to God. Participants enjoy fellowshipping with the saints and receive life changing information. THE LAY ORGANIZATION - This is the official organization in the church for the laity. They are charged to organize and train the lay members of Friendship. The Lay Organization encourages the love and appreciation for the history, tradition and the principles of African Methodism. They advocate respect and loyalty to constituted authority and encourage support for the total ministry of the local church. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - Vacation Bible School is held once annually and offers a variety of opportunities for Biblical training and spiritual growth. Serve: Helping God's people in the community and the world 5. Evangelize: Sharing the Good News of Jesus with others THE YOUTH CHOIR - An opportunity for young people to sing praises to the Lord. The choir sings a mixture of contemporary and traditional gospel music. ACOLYTES AND CROSSBEARERS - This ministry uses young people as candle lighters and cross bearers at the beginning and end of the worship experience. This provides young members of Friendship with another opportunity to participate in the Sunday morning worship service. JUNIOR USHER BOARD - This ministry gives our young people an opportunity to learn the order of the worship service. It also allows for graduation into the adult Usher Board. "COINS FOR COLLEGE" - A benevolent ministry designed to assist parents of college students. Membership is asked to contribute "coins" during announced collections during the Worship Service. Upon request funds are distributed to assist in the purchase school supplies and toiletries. Support Ministries: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MINISTRY - The Technology Ministry installs, configures and maintains Friendship AMEC's computer hardware and software systems. INFORMATION DEVELOPMENT MINISTRY - Friendship AMEC's Information Development creates and maintains the communication systems. Projects include the Friendship Web Site, Internet E-mail and online help systems. MEDIA MINISTRY - Friendship AMEC's Media Ministry is, at this time, responsible for creating media (cassette tapes and CDs) for distribution to our sick and shut-in members, a local radio station for delayed broadcast (sermons), deposit in the church's archival library, and resale to our members and the general public. PUBLICATIONS MINISTRY - This ministry supports the church's print media needs. Responsible for reproducing worship bulletins, brochures, reports and other printed publications for the church. The Publications Ministry also has a staff that produces the Friendship Newsletter. THE VAN MINISTRY - The Van Ministry provides transportation for individuals in need of a ride to church services or other activities. The Van Ministry maintains the vehicle, by scheduling routine service. The Van Ministry transports various ministries to activities at other sites. THE KITCHEN MINISTRY - The Kitchen Ministry prepares meals for special service events as well as church fellowship activities. ADMINISTRATIVE MINISTRY - The Administrative Staff consists of the Secretary to the Pastor/Church Secretary, Conference Secretary, Correspondence/Communications Secretary, President of the Class Leaders Council, Administrative Assistant and Office Assistance Volunteers. Daytime and evening Office Assistants (volunteers) help serve the needs of Friendship's various ministries through answering telephones, word processing, filing, photocopying, preparing mailers, etc. Office Assistants are volunteer positions and the hours are flexible. Credit is given for charitable service that enhance resumes for employment as well as applications for college. CLASS LEADERS MINISTRY - One of the hallmarks of African Methodism is the Class Leader System. Not only is this system recognized as a building block for church growth it also serves as a vehicle to lead individuals to a better understanding of the church and God's work. The Class Leaders provide the church with an important connection with all of the members while providing for the individual ministerial needs of each member. The Class leader system provides an opportunity for the membership to be an active and knowledgeable part of the community.
