On August 4th, 2007, at a local Leadership Conference and Workshop, our then-pastor, Rev. Charles. R.
Watkins, Jr., inducted the first two honorees into Friendship A.M.E. Church's "Hall of F.A.M.E.".
These first two Hall of F.A.M.E. honorees were Mother Bertha Bailey and Miss Mattie Mae Young, both long
and faithful members of the church. Each was presented with an individual plaque commemorating the
occasion and a plaque, held below by our former pastor and partially depicted above, designating them as
our honorees will be mounted henceforth in the halls of the church.
